Its almost time for all the luckly people to be heading north to escape from winter,don’t forget to check your UV strips on your headsail and screechers.

Acrylic ones are easy as usually the stiching goes first but after a while they will tear  when the cloth has had too much UV and can’t do its job anymore

Some strips are stuck on to the sail and then, with these try scratching them with your nails if it exposes the cloth underneath then the strip will need replacing.

 

Remember that these strips are sacraficial and allthough they last longer than sail cloths they do not last in the UV forever, once they have started to break down your precious sail  will be attacked by the suns rays and this will drastically reduce its life.
